What is a photo day?

A day in Yokohama, Kamakura or Tokyo with an English-speaking local guide who also photographs you. You travel by train and on foot; the guide shows the way, explains what you are looking at and takes the pictures, so for once everyone is in the photos. You get 10 photographs the same night and about 80 within 48 hours.

How much does it cost?

A full day (about 8 hours) is ¥78,000 for two, about US$260 each; a 3-hour version in Yokohama is ¥48,000 for two. The price is per party, so up to four people pay the same. Train fares for the day are included; food, drinks and entry tickets are not.

When does it work for a cruise?

The day before you board, the day you leave the ship (with your luggage sent ahead or stored), or a long port day in Yokohama or Tokyo. We plan the day backwards from your boarding time or your flight, the same way every guide on this site works.

How do I book?

Send a request by email with your ship, date, city and party size. We reply within two days with the guide and the plan. Nothing is charged on this site; payment is arranged only after the date is confirmed. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before.

Is it a tour with a car?

No. Photo days use trains and walking only. If you want Mt Fuji by car, the guided days on our Yokohama and Tokyo pages are the better fit.
