Which way to town?

From Hinode Pier, turn right along the waterfront — the fish market is 8 minutes on foot. No shuttle needed.

At Okitsu instead?

That’s the container berth: you cannot walk out. Ride the shuttle and treat its last departure as your real deadline.

Taxis?

Available at the pier, but drivers don’t wait at viewpoints — agree your return pickup before you get out.

Quick answers

Shimizu, honestly

Can I see Mt. Fuji from Shimizu cruise port?

On clear days, superbly — but the mountain shows itself clearly only about 3–4 days in 10, and mornings are most reliable. Check early from the deck; if it hides, the fish market, Miho pines and Sunpu history still make a full day.

Is Shimizu a walkable cruise port?

Yes — from Hinode Pier the fish market is 8 minutes on foot and the Dream Plaza waterfront 10. One caveat: on crowded days ships may berth at Okitsu instead, a container berth where the shuttle is mandatory. Check your daily program.

What is the water bus to Miho?

A small ferry from Hinode Pier across the bay: ¥1,000 one way, about 15 minutes, then a flat 20-minute walk to the pine grove and beach. Confirm return sailings when you board.
