The last decade has run roughly 5–6 days earlier than those normals, and the date wanders by a week or more each year. Tempozan, the main cruise berth, is about twenty-five minutes from Namba and Dotonbori by subway on the Chuo line from Osakako station. The Osaka Aquarium and the Ferris wheel are at the pier itself, so a short call still has something at walking distance.
Yes, on a call of about eight hours or more. From the ship it is about 1 hour 10 minutes to Fushimi Inari (¥1,200, subway + JR) or 1 hour 20 minutes to Gion (¥780, subway + Keihan); the JR leg from Osaka Station is 29 minutes. The commonest Osaka call is 12 hours, which leaves 3–4 hours in Kyoto with a safe margin; on an overnight it is comfortable.
