The Nebutan-go sightseeing bus does NOT serve the port area on its 2026 route — don’t wait for it here.

Which of the two you get is decided by ship size and how full North Port is, sometimes late. Listen to the port talk before you plan the morning.

For Gamcheon Culture Village, stay on to Toseong and take the village bus up the hill — it is a steep climb otherwise. City bus 5-1 runs from the North Port terminal to Jagalchi every 16 min (₩1,550 by card). The national cruise office lists a free tourist shuttle for cruise calls, but its route and schedule are not published; do not rely on it.

No shuttle is run by the prefecture or the city. The Himi line has gaps of up to 95 minutes; a missed train costs the afternoon. IC cards (ICOCA, Suica) work at all Himi-line stations since 14 March 2026. The walk to the station crosses the port cordon; follow the marshals.

On a clear day only. The taxi is the reliable way. Ask the driver to wait, or take the train on to Takaoka (20 min) and continue the day from there.

ICOCA and other national IC cards are accepted; cards cannot be bought with a credit card, and Suica cannot be bought or refunded here. A taxi from the wharf is 25.6 km, about 36 min, about ¥13,300 on the meter (our estimate).

The Kaiwomaru is closed every Wednesday; the fish auction does not run on Sundays or Wednesdays. The Shinminato Bridge walkway (free, 6:00–21:00 May–Oct, 6:00–20:00 Nov–Apr) is 2 min from Koshinokata tram stop and closes in strong wind.

Fares rose in December 2025 — older guides still print ¥210–260 and a ¥600 pass. The fare box gives no change and does not change ¥2,000+ notes; IC cards work.

1. ① From the Ujina berth: tram Line 7 (toward Yokogawa) from the Hiroshima Port stop — direct to Genbaku-Dome-mae, 35–37 min
2. Around midday Line 7 runs only about once an hour (weekdays roughly 11:00–14:30). Then take Line 1 instead — every ~12 min — to Hondori or Kamiyacho-higashi (32–34 min) and walk 5–10 min to the Dome and the Peace Park

Suica-type IC works again since July 2026. Line 1 stops two blocks short of the Dome, which is why it is the midday answer rather than the first choice. Line 5 is the fast one to the station.

Foreign credit cards cannot tap the gates in 2026 — buy a T-money card. About two hours door to door; a taxi all the way is 60–110 min and ~₩50,000–70,000.

No public bus serves the cruise quay — the operator’s full route list confirms it. Walking is possible but the city’s own figure is 40–50 minutes.

The City Tour bus takes no cash. Jeju taxis start at ₩4,300.

Jeju buses have been cashless since October 2024 and take tapped foreign Visa cards and T-money. Frequency of the 680 is not published; taxis wait at the terminal.

Express bus 111 runs to Seongsan from Jeju Airport and the Jeju Bus Terminal (about 70 min from the airport), but not from the cruise terminal, and its frequency is not published; on a port day a taxi is the practical choice.

1. ① From Marine Port: ship shuttle to Tenmonkan or Kagoshima-Chuo, ~30 min, every 30–60 min — free or paid depending on the ship
2. ② From Kita-futo (smaller ships): walk ~7 min to the Suizokukan-guchi tram stop, or ~20 min to Tenmonkan on foot
3. No shuttle? Walk the signed route to Wakita tram stop (~27 min), then tram Line 1 to Tenmonkan-dori (24 min, every ~7 min, ¥200, contactless card or coins) — about 55–60 min door to door

From Tenmonkan, the tram and the City View bus open up the whole day.

The tram takes only the local Rapica card or contactless credit — NOT Suica-type IC. The ferry itself takes IC and cards.

The Machi-meguri bus has been suspended since April 2025 — City View is the one that runs. It takes contactless credit cards (tap on and off), not Suica-type IC. Or JR Nippo Line from Kagoshima-Chuo to Sengan-en Station, ~10 min, about 2 trains an hour.

2. Some ships run a shuttle — check your daily programme. Ships at Ohama Wharf (MSC Bellissima) have no usable daytime bus: shuttle or taxi (~¥3,700 to the station)

Suica/ICOCA-type cards are not accepted on Hokutetsu route buses; pay cash (¥1,000 notes changed on board), a Hokutetsu ICa card, or tap a contactless Visa/Mastercard/JCB/Amex on and off. The Loop Bus in town does take Suica-type cards.

The old "Kenrokuen Shuttle" was abolished in 2021 — the Loop Bus is the one that exists.

1. From the West terminal: ~4 min to the station’s north exit
2. From the East terminal: ~8 min to the station’s south exit

Both quays are in the middle of town — this is the rare port where the station is closer than the taxi rank. Miaokou night market is about 400 m from the gate.

1. ① TRA from Keelung to Taipei Main — about 45 min

An EasyCard works on the gates (tap in and out), but not on Tze-Chiang 3000, Puyuma or Taroko trains. Local trains are unreserved. The senior half fare is for Taiwanese nationals only.

1. ① Keelung Bus 788 from Keelung Transfer Station (5–8 min walk from either terminal) — Ruifang, Jiufen Old Street, then Jinguashi

Allow 45–60 minutes each way (estimate). If the return gap does not fit, take a taxi: about NT$405–415 plus time charges.

2. From Naka Pier: you are already downtown — JR/Hanshin Motomachi 15 min on foot, Sannomiya ~25–30 min on foot or the City Loop bus (¥300)

Port Liner takes IC cards and contactless Visa/Mastercard/JCB/Amex/Diners/Discover/UnionPay.

1. ① No bus route serves Kochi New Port. On ship days the prefecture and city run a shuttle to Harimaya-bashi Kanko Bus Terminal (free in 2025–26; a fare is under study), ~25–30 min; some lines also sell their own shuttle

No shuttle on your call? A pre-arranged taxi is the only independent way in.

International Pier arrivals (Spectrum): the pier is closed to walkers — the shuttle is the only way out.

The Learning Disaster guided tour (¥5,000 for 1–9 people, 60 min) must be booked ahead (0193-77-3305); it is cancelled if a tsunami warning is issued.

The free transfer (IC or contactless card, reboard within 30 min) is the single best reason to tap a card in Nagasaki — but each traveller needs their own card: one card paying for several people gets no free transfer. About 26 min riding plus the change; allow 40–50 min door to door.

manaca is sold at Kinjo-futo’s window and Suica, PASMO and the other national IC cards work through mutual use. Credit-card touch on the Aonami Line is not confirmed. The ¥620 Donichi Eco Kippu is not valid on the Aonami Line. Kinjo-futo’s ticket office keeps short hours (7:30–12:00, 16:00–18:30, 20:00–22:30). Every rail route from Kinjo goes through Nagoya Station: the Aonami Line has no other subway interchange.

You cannot walk out of the wharf; the gate is closed to pedestrians on ship days (secondary). Taxi floors use the Shizuoka tariff of 25 November 2025: ¥700 for the first 1.17 km, then ¥100 per 285 m, before time charges. The fleet is small; 15–20 min waits were reported late in the morning.

No railway reaches Omaezaki, so the taxi is the only practical way to the Shinkansen. A secondary guide quoted about ¥16,000 for a castle round trip. Book the taxi or an hourly hire before the call; the stand empties by mid-morning.

It works for Azamara’s 20:00 and 22:00 departures; walk-up tickets are cash, and it does not run on the second Monday of the month. City buses 111, 111-1 and 116 reach the Impo stop below the hermitage but take an hour or more (secondary); not a port-day option. Holland America rates its own Hyangiram tour strenuous.
