Then take Line 1 instead — every ~10 min — to Hondori or Kamiyacho-higashi (about 35 min) and walk 5–10 min to the Dome and the Peace Park

Our shortest timed plan, "The port-side hour", runs ~2.5h door to door, so it needs a 4.5-hour call (off the ship 30 minutes after arrival, back at the gangway an hour before all-aboard). The half-day is "The peace pilgrimage" (~5.5h door to door), which needs a 7.5-hour call or longer (off the ship 30 minutes after arrival, back at the gangway an hour before all-aboard) — every transit leg counted from the berth, with an escape route if you run late. Since 1 July 2026 you tap on boarding and again on exit at the MOBIRY DAYS reader, and you can use any door. PiTaPa is not accepted. Line 1 stops two blocks short of the Dome, which is why it is the midday answer rather than the first choice. Line 5 is the fast one to the station. Yes, but only with tight scheduling — they sit in opposite directions and the museum deserves unhurried time. This is one port where a guided day genuinely earns its price; on a shorter call, choose one and do it properly.

Two hours minimum to move through it with the attention it asks for, plus the park itself. Rushing it to catch a ferry serves neither place — this is the strongest argument for choosing one heavyweight on shorter calls.
