    Osaka eats under cover better than almost any Japanese city. Food halls open at 10:00 and most restaurants at 11:00, so on an early arrival take the arcades slowly

    Whale sharks, five minutes from the ship. It opens 10:30 on weekdays (8:30–9:30 at weekends and holidays), so it goes last
