Dolsan Park is the far end of the cable car, on the island above the Dolsan Bridge. The view is back over the strait to the town; free. The bridge is lit at night, which only the Azamara calls departing at 20:00 and 22:00 can see. Jeonggane, a galchi-jorim house, is about 10 minutes on foot from the park (secondary).
- Short enough to be certain of: 1 hr 30 min door to door, so even a tender day works.
- On a 4–6h ashore call our verdict is "Yes" — return ride from jasan park, then walk 22 minutes down to odongdo and back to the ship on foot or by taxi.
- It is not only a photo stop: eight million visitors, two cement silos and the reason your ship docks where it does.
- 09:30–21:30, last ticket 21:00 — every day; no closed day listed. stops in strong wind; the threshold is not published.
- It is a view, so it is weather. Check the morning sky before you commit the hours.
Why Dolsan Bridge and the Dolsan Park view is famous
Eight million visitors, two cement silos and the reason your ship docks where it does
Dolsan Bridge joins the town to Dolsan island across the strait. Dolsan Park on the island side is the far end of the Maritime Cable Car, with the view back over the water to the town. The park is free, and the city lists the night view of the lit bridge as the thing to see from it. On an 08:00–17:00 call that is out of reach; the Azamara calls that sail at 20:00 and 22:00 can see it. The road to Hyangiram runs the length of the island from here, 23 km to the hermitage car park.
For three months in 2012 a fishing port at the end of a railway line hosted a World Expo. The crowds left, the pavilions came down, and the quay built for the show is now where cruise ships tie up.
This was Korea's first cable car across the sea, opened in 2014. It runs 1.5 km between Jasan Park on the mainland hill and Dolsan Park on Dolsan island. It passes beside the Geobukseon Bridge with the old-town harbour below. The crystal cabins have a glass floor.
For a cruise day it is the one sight that fits every call. The Jasan Park station is a half-hour walk or a seven-minute taxi from the berth, and the whole outing takes about ninety minutes. Note what it is not: it does not go to Odongdo. The camellia island is a separate 1.7 km walk downhill from the Jasan station.

The Sky Tower is three minutes from the arrival hall and the Big-O ring is a fourteen-minute walk along the water. Both fit a call of any length. The aquarium next door is the rain plan.
Things worth knowing
- Buy a one-way ticket if you are coming from Hyangiram. The Dolsan Park end is on the road back, and the Jasan end is nearer the ship.
- The queue is not published. The Islands Expo of 5 September to 4 November 2026 uses Dolsan as its corridor. The 14 and 29 October 2026 calls should expect waits.
- It runs in rain. It stops in strong wind, and the cut-off speed is not published, so have an old-town plan if the forecast is bad.
- The ticket office takes cards and both stations have a cafe and a convenience store. Parking is free for the first hour, then ₩200 per 10 minutes, if you have hired a car.
- Big-O빅오 — The steel ring in the water, the Expo's symbol; its night show uses 345 water nozzles as a screen.
- Sky Tower스카이타워 — Two cement silos turned into a 67-metre observation tower; reopened 25 March 2025.
Dolsan Bridge and the Dolsan Park view and your ship
Both pins on one map, so the distance is a fact rather than a feeling.
Where the 1 hr 30 min goes
Counted from the moment you step off the gangway. The hour before all-aboard is not in this bar; it is already set aside.
10 minutes each way is the measured figure for taxi ~10 min to dolsan park, about ₩6,400; or the cable car from jasan park, not the optimistic one. If your ship is late, cut the 1 hr 10 min in the middle. Never cut the hour at the end.
Questions people send us
How do I get to the cable car from the cruise ship?
The Jasan Park station is 2.3 km from the terminal, about 31 minutes on foot with a climb at the end. A taxi takes about seven minutes at about ₩4,700 (our estimate). The Dolsan Park station is 4.8 km away over the Dolsan Bridge, about ten minutes by taxi.
Does the cable car go to Odongdo?
No. It links Jasan Park and Dolsan Park. Some cruise websites say otherwise and are wrong. Odongdo is a 1.7 km walk, about 22 minutes, downhill from the Jasan station.
Is there a senior discount?
None is published. The adult fares are ₩17,000 return in a standard cabin and ₩24,000 in a crystal cabin with a glass floor. The ticket office takes cards.
