The 2012 Expo grounds surround the berth. The Sky Tower is two former cement silos turned observation tower, remodelled and reopened in March 2025, 10:00–22:00 all year; a fee of about ₩3,000 is listed by a secondary source. The Big-O is the show stage on the water; its night show has its own tickets and a schedule we could not confirm.
- Short enough to be certain of: 1 hr door to door, so even a tender day works.
- It is not only a photo stop: eight million visitors, two cement silos and the reason your ship docks where it does.
- It is a view, so it is weather. Check the morning sky before you commit the hours.
Why Expo site, Sky Tower and the Big-O is famous
Eight million visitors, two cement silos and the reason your ship docks where it does
Expo 2012 was held on the waterfront where the cruise terminal now stands, and the port authority says cargo handling moved to Gwangyang afterwards. The Sky Tower is two former cement silos turned into an observation tower; it was remodelled with a media-art room and water curtain and reopened on 25 March 2025, open 10:00 to 22:00 all year. The Big-O is the show stage on the water, with its own tickets for the night show. The grounds themselves are free, and the Hanwha Aqua Planet aquarium is on the same site.
For three months in 2012 a fishing port at the end of a railway line hosted a World Expo. The crowds left, the pavilions came down, and the quay built for the show is now where cruise ships tie up.

The Sky Tower is three minutes from the arrival hall and the Big-O ring is a fourteen-minute walk along the water. Both fit a call of any length. The aquarium next door is the rain plan.
Expo site, Sky Tower and the Big-O and your ship
Both pins on one map, so the distance is a fact rather than a feeling.
Where the 1 hr goes
Counted from the moment you step off the gangway. The hour before all-aboard is not in this bar; it is already set aside.
3 minutes each way is the measured figure for on foot: sky tower 3 min from the arrival hall, big-o about 14 min, not the optimistic one. If your ship is late, cut the 54 min in the middle. Never cut the hour at the end.
Routes that already include it
Each one is a finished day we have walked and timed, with this stop in it. Read the route rather than assembling it yourself.
What to put beside it
Each of these still lands you back aboard with the hour to spare.
