Thirty minutes on the water past working JMSDF destroyers at their moorings — nowhere else in Japan puts cruise passengers this close to the fleet. Weekdays run only ~3 sailings; time your day to one. From 7 January to 12 March 2027 there are three sailings a day and none on Tuesdays or Wednesdays (except holidays), none at all 25–29 January, and nothing is listed from 28 December to 6 January.

Why Navy harbor cruise is famous
Maizuru has been a naval base since 1901 and is still one of Japan's main ones. The harbour cruise runs past moored destroyers close enough to read their numbers, which is unusual access anywhere in the world. It runs every day from mid-March to late December (six sailings on weekends and holidays, three on weekdays at 11:00, 13:00 and 14:00), and the fleet decides what you see.
