Most listings let you reserve now and pay later, and cancel free up to 24 hours before. Your ship's berth or time can change; a reservation costs nothing to hold.
Not at the pier: about 35 minutes by taxi
Measured from Dai-2 Pier (Umitobira), where most ships here dock.
Coming backAllow the same ~35 minutes back to the ship, and aim to be there an hour before all-aboard.
Fare from the official meter tariff in force since 2026-09-30, for the road distance; traffic, tolls and night surcharges are extra.
- It starts at the station the direct train from Nishi-Maizuru arrives at, so it slots into this guide's Amanohashidate model day with no extra transfer.
- Nine reviews, all five stars, and the operator says the e-bikes make it fine for riders who are not fit.
- The bike and all fees are included, and the route reaches Motoise Kono Shrine and Manai Shrine, which the train-and-walk day misses.
Couples on a 10-hour call at Dai-2 who can ride a bicycle and want more of Amanohashidate than the lift and the first stretch of pines.
You get yourself to Amanohashidate: a taxi to Nishi-Maizuru Station and the direct train each way. Nothing is said about lunch or the View Land lift, which are separate, and it is not for anyone with spinal or heart conditions. On Spectrum days the International Wharf has no terminal, so the taxi to the station is the first step.

Before you book
Is the Amanohashidate Sand bar & culture e-bike tour worth it from the Maizuru cruise port?
Two and a half hours on an e-bike across the Amanohashidate sandbar and out to Motoise Kono and Manai shrines, meeting at Amanohashidate Station. Best for: Couples on a 10-hour call at Dai-2 who can ride a bicycle and want more of Amanohashidate than the lift and the first stretch of pines.
How long a port call do I need for this tour?
About 7 hours. The tour runs 2 hr 30 min; add half an hour to get off the ship, about 35 minutes each way between the pier and the start and keep the hour before all-aboard free. Two and a half hours of riding plus the train each way, the taxi to Nishi-Maizuru and the hour kept before all-aboard: a call of about seven hours.
Can I cancel if my ship skips the port?
The operator's policy: For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time. The operator may cancel for bad weather, with a refund.
