Mochi under sweet mashed green soybeans, and fish cake shaped like a bamboo leaf and grilled. Both are sold on the station’s third floor, next to the gyutan.
Zunda is edamame mashed with sugar, a summer sweet of the Sendai domain served over mochi. Sasa-kamaboko is white fish paste shaped like a bamboo leaf, a Sendai invention of the Meiji era named after the Date family crest of bamboo and sparrows.
