A 1767 brewery you can walk to from the station — 30-minute tours daily (¥200; book ahead, no walk-ins for the tour), an English one at 13:30 on weekdays (¥550), free tasting after (premium ¥1,500). Come before any other sake: no entry to the brewery after drinking.

Why Imayo Tsukasa brewery is famous

A brewery founded in 1767 that took an unusual decision in 2006: it stopped using brewer's alcohol entirely and makes only junmai, pure rice sake. The wooden brewery is open for tours in English, which is rare, and you can see the tanks rather than a display about them.
