Hexagonal columns of basalt thirty to forty metres high, where lava met the sea and cracked as it cooled. A kilometre of them, with waves breaking against the tops. ₩2,000.
Columnar jointing happens when a thick lava flow cools slowly and contracts into hexagonal columns. At Daepo the columns meet the sea along about a kilometre of coast, and they are designated a Natural Monument.
