The Gangjeong women divers run a restaurant beside the southern terminal: noodle soup with the sea urchin they bring up themselves. Closed Mondays; break 15:00–17:00.
The haenyeo dive without air tanks for abalone, sea urchin and seaweed, holding their breath for a minute or more, many into their seventies. The culture was added to UNESCO's intangible heritage list in 2016. Gangjeong's divers sell part of their catch through their own restaurant.
