The castle and Hirome Market are about four hundred metres apart, which makes them the one pairing in Kochi that a short call can actually do. A guide is worth it for the castle specifically: the surviving palace rooms are easy to walk through without noticing what you are looking at.
It has run since 1690. Roughly 300 stalls stretch a kilometre down the avenue to the castle gate, and it opens every Sunday of the year except two. If your call lands on one, rearrange everything.
