Why Red-crowned Crane Park is famous

Tancho, the red-crowned crane, stands about 1.5 metres and is among the rarest cranes in the world. This park has bred them since 1958, when the wild population was in the low hundreds. They are in outdoor enclosures year-round, so it works when the marsh does not.
