The world’s definitive jellyfish aquarium — about 100 species drifting in backlit tanks (¥1,500, 9:00–17:00, last entry 16:00). No practical bus; taxi or tour only.
- 4 hr door to door needs a 6-hour call: a 2–3 hour stop cannot hold it. Pick something closer instead.
- No single published ride covers this one. Budget for a taxi both ways, or fold it into a guided day.
Why Kamo Aquarium is famous
Kamo keeps more jellyfish species on display than any aquarium in the world, about a hundred, after the place nearly closed in the 1990s and gambled on the one exhibit visitors responded to. Its main tank is five metres across and full of drifting moon jellies.
Where the 4 hr goes
Counted from the moment you step off the gangway, about 30 minutes after the ship arrives. The hour before all-aboard is not in this bar; it is already set aside.
45 minutes each way is the measured figure for taxi ~45 min, not the optimistic one. If your ship is late, cut the 2 hr 30 min in the middle. Never cut the hour at the end.
