The story

Why Kanegasaki-gu is famous

Kanegasaki was a fortress where, in 1570, Oda Nobunaga was nearly trapped and escaped only because his rearguard held. The shrine here now is better known for a cherry festival in which visitors exchange flowering branches, a custom said to be a matchmaking one.
