Two free, always-open stretches of the cape. Cape Park is a 30–45 minute coast path past the Shiosai statue beside the lighthouse. Marine Park Omaezaki is the beach park by the market, where the ship-day car park is. Windy; the JMA April normal is 5.1 m/s.
- Short enough to be certain of: 1 hr 20 min door to door, so even a tender day works.
Why Cape Park and the Marine Park shore is famous
Cape Omaezaki is the southernmost point of Shizuoka Prefecture, and the port sits on its northern side. The cape's wind made it a windsurfing centre, and the JMA normal for April is 5.1 metres a second. Cape Park is the coast path beside the lighthouse. Marine Park Omaezaki, by the market, is the beach park with about 460 parking spaces where the ship-day car park is set up.
Cape Park and the Marine Park shore and your ship
Both pins on one map, so the distance is a fact rather than a feeling.
Where the 1 hr 20 min goes
Counted from the moment you step off the gangway. The hour before all-aboard is not in this bar; it is already set aside.
10 minutes each way is the measured figure for shuttle or taxi ~10 min; marine park is 6 min on foot from nabura market, not the optimistic one. If your ship is late, cut the 1 hr in the middle. Never cut the hour at the end.
What to put beside it
Each of these still lands you back aboard with the hour to spare.
