  3. ③ Or walk 1.4 km (about 20 min) to JR Fushiki Station and take the Himi line, 14 min

No shuttle is run by the prefecture or the city. The Himi line has gaps of up to 95 minutes; a missed train costs the afternoon. IC cards (ICOCA, Suica) work at all Himi-line stations since 14 March 2026. The walk to the station crosses the port cordon; follow the marshals.

On a clear day only. The taxi is the reliable way. Ask the driver to wait, or take the train on to Takaoka (20 min) and continue the day from there.

ICOCA and other national IC cards are accepted; cards cannot be bought with a credit card, and Suica cannot be bought or refunded here. A taxi from the wharf is 25.6 km, about 36 min, about ¥13,300 on the meter (our estimate).

How to get there

  2. ② From the Kaiwo Berth: the park is beside the berth; Kittokito Ichiba is about 0.8 km on foot

The Kaiwomaru is closed every Wednesday; the fish auction does not run on Sundays or Wednesdays. The Shinminato Bridge walkway (free, 6:00–21:00 May–Oct, 6:00–20:00 Nov–Apr) is 2 min from Koshinokata tram stop and closes in strong wind.

National IC cards only; no credit cards; no paper tickets, cash fare paid on exit. The 2026 timetable is a temporary one: some trips are suspended and delays of about 15 min are possible. A taxi is 12.3 km, about 21 min, official example ¥6,700.
